3. Launch YA-AutoPoster and set the preferences, which can be found in the "Edit" menu.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR YA-NEWSWATCHER 4.2.X & 5.X USERS
There are a couple of special instructions for YA-NewsWatcher 4.2.x (and higher) users; how to setup YA-NewsWatcher for autoposting and how to post without a 0/# part. These instructions are outlined below.
In order to setup YA-NewsWatcher 4.2.x (and higher) for autoposting, there is one very important preference setting. Launch YA-NewsWatcher and open the preferences window. Select the topic "News Server". Make sure that the checkbox labeled "Use Additional Connection for Queued Transfers" is checked.

In order for YA-NewsWatcher 4.2.x (and higher) to post messages without a 0/# part there is one thing you must do in YA-AutoPoster. You need to make sure that you leave the message body field blank in the "Message Setup" window.
POSTING
1. Place the files you wish to post into the folder of your choice. Make sure there is nothing else in this folder except files you wish to post. Subfolders will not be posted.
2. Open your internet connection. Do not start YA-NewsWatcher, quit it if it's running (along with any other version of NewsWatcher), just dial-in to your ISP.
3. Choose "AutoPost
" from the "File" menu (or type command-P) to have YA-AutoPoster create the message files, launch YA-NewsWatcher, and start posting the files. Choose "Create Messages
" from the "File" menu (or type command-M) to have YA-AutoPoster only create the message files.
4. Locate the folder containing the files you wish to post from the list.
5. Select which newsgroup(s) you will be posting to from the listbox, then click "OK"
6. Choose whether you want to use the same Subject & Message for each file you post, or you would like to enter different ones for every file.
7. For each file, enter the text that will appear in the Subject & Message fields of your posts (NOTE: the Message will only appear in the (0/#) part of your posts). The name of the file is displayed at the top of the window. If you are using YA-NewsWatcher 4.2.x or higher and wish to post messages without a 0/# part, leave the Message field blank.
8. YA-AutoPoster will now create all of your message files for you.
9. (NOTE: If you chose "Create Messages
", your "Posting Folder" will open and the remaining steps will be skipped.) YA-NewsWatcher will launch. YA-AutoPoster will wait up to 3 minutes for YA-NewsWatcher to launch and connect to your news server before getting an error. This doesn't mean you have to wait 3 minutes before YA-AutoPoster will move on to the next step, it will move on as soon as YA-NewsWatcher connects to your news server.
10. Now, your message files will be opened one by one. When they have all been opened, the posting will start.
11. Once the posting begins, YA-AutoPoster will quit.
12. Now you can hide YA-NewsWatcher and move on to other things (like your work). Just don't forget about it and turn off your Mac :-). Also, be sure not the trash the "~Saved Messages" folder until YA-NewsWatcher has finished posting them.
13. When YA-NewsWatcher is done posting, you must quit it (and close your internet connection) on your own. When it's all over, a folder named "~Saved Messages" will be in your posting folder. All of the messages YA-AutoPoster created are saved here. Also, within the "Saved Messages" folder is another folder named " Saved Binaries". This folder contains all of the binary attachments you posted. Be sure to remove it (the "Saved Messages" folder), or rename it before your next posting session.
That's it. Once you use YA-AutoPoster successfully, you shouldn't have to read this again.
